The bus drops you off
along with 50 other lost souls at dawn. The sun is still sleeping 😊🌞⛅and you
are full of adrenaline, but you are keeping it cool, like it’s your usual
routine. I don’t know why we are constantly lying to ourselves and others 😊
First glimpse of the ship … what you see is power! You can feel it, you
can even touch it and you can’t explain the feeling! You are simply proud because
you succeed this far and are in awe with a steel GIANT in front of you. You feel
like an ant next to it.
We have just entered through the crew gangway (for you terrestrials :D,
it’s a staircase that leads up to the ship). It’s a different gangway then the one
guests (for you terrestrials :D it’s a passengers) are using. It feels like you
entered behind the stage of the theater. It’s barebone steel and some carpet
occasionally.
You are entering and
you feel a different climate just like entering a huge cave. You hear a constant buzzing noise and feel
the smell of the ship. It’s a new sensation.
Enthusiasm, focus, unknown surroundings, and people. Like on any other job 😊 … you think you know everything… well, all you really know is just your suitcase. 😀😂💪
For some weird reason you have a conviction that you are going to find your way around the ship easily. But!... in fact, hallways where the crew cabins are, are like a giant Minotaur maze. This huge labyrinth with strange combination of numbers written on bulkheads (for you terrestrials 😊, it’s walls) multiple decks (for you terrestrials😊, that is a floor 😊) besides making you completely lost, does have an upside. It makes you reliant on your veteran crew to show you the way, so you will often be guided around like a kid in the kindergarten. New environment – you don’t want to get lost? Well, find a mate!

The faces of the crew
you meet have big smiles which you will few weeks later learn to decode. The range
of meaning of those smiles were anywhere from welcoming and open, to the “poor
bastards have no clue what they are in for” or “fresh meat has arrived.” 😊😉
See you on the ship introduction
training …

So true 😊
