⚓Anchoring HR practices

Stepping aboard for my inaugural venture into the cruise industry felt like being handed the golden ticket! The meticulous orchestration was evident: an itinerary crafted, highlighting every rendezvous that awaited me. Every manager, with a steaming cup of joe, was eager to immerse me in their realm. They unfurled the tapestry of their duties, elucidating the dynamics of their teams and outlining their anticipations from my presence.

The triumvirate of the ship's anatomy - the deck, engine, and hotel, seemed to pulsate with distinct ethos. While my HR hat mandated ensuring a symphonic adherence to the company's guiding principles, the unspoken subtext was clear: juggling these diverse sectors wasn’t going to be a cakewalk. 🎩🤹‍♀️

Roaming the corridors, each nod from the crew was like a badge of distinction. Yet, the corridors echoed with greetings, a testament to the intricate camaraderie that threads the crew.

I soon discerned the magnitude of this ensemble, all dancing to a synchronized rhythm, albeit with varied tunes. Engaging over caffeinated conversations with representatives from these tri-sectors offered a panoramic perspective. A recurring motif was evident: every department wore the crown of primacy in its members' eyes. With each assertion of their unit's supremacy, my internal monologue often mused, "Aren't we all part of the most pivotal section?" 🤔✨ A cheeky revelation I'd chuckle about, but kept under wraps!

Elaborating on the organizational structure (a snippet from a previous post) – most vessels primarily function under three major umbrellas. These are marshaled with an almost militaristic rigor. My sentiments oscillated between awe and intrigue. It felt akin to being initiated into an enigmatic fraternity, where every insignia and gesture held profound significance.

First, I needed to learn how everyone on the ship talked. I watched how they worked and tried to fit in with them.

See you soon

Kako sam postala Fractional CHRO

Snaga promene U poslu, kao i u životu, jedna stvar me uvek vodila – promene. Iskreno, mnogima i danas nije jasno šta tačno radim. „Jesi li HR?“ – jesam. „Jesi li konsultant?“ – i to.

No escape. Just growth.

I Ran Away. Then I Came Back. I never liked asking for help. I don’t know if society, family, or simply life taught me that, but I know that when things get tough – you grit your teeth and push through. Who needs weakness? Who needs to show they don’t know something? That they can’t handle it? Here, you either figure it out or you disappear. In this country, in this time. And everyone who knows me also knows that I worked abroad. That I ran away, but that I also returned. Always returned. And here I am now, once again. With her. My coach. They told me she was good. That she cuts to the bone , but that it’s worth it. I told myself I could handle it. That I wanted to. Coaching. A word that people here misunderstand, dismiss, or mock. Why would anyone pay someone to ask them questions? they say. But coaching is not about the questions—it’s about the answers you don’t want to hear. And she knows exactly which ones to bring out. The first time I sat across from her, I felt relie...
