Love and laughs on the high seas

... I've been given the green light by my colleague to share this story with you ...

Mia, a newbie HR officer onboard, boarded a cruise ship so big you could get lost going from your room to the loo. Her cabin was so small, if she sneezed, she’d hit all four walls!

On her first day, Mia was all over the place, meeting people from everywhere. She learned the crew’s special language – a funny mix of broken English and hand signals. It was like playing charades every day.

Mia was like the ship’s agony aunt, sorting out everyone's dramas. She was busier than a bee!

Then ...one day ... she met him! Leo, a deck officer. He had eyes that made you think of deep-sea diving. They hit it off faster than a seagull on a chip. They'd sneak quick chats between shifts, hiding their romance like it was a stowaway.

Life on the ship was nuts. One minute you’re giving relationship advice to a heartbroken cook, the next, you’re trying not to fall over while the ship rocks like it's dancing.

Mia, the spirited HR officer, and Leo, the dreamy deck officer, first crossed paths under a sky so full of stars it looked like a spilled glitter jar. Mia was lost on the deck, her ship map looking more like a cryptic treasure map. Leo, with a smile as warm as a Caribbean sun, offered to guide her. 👀😍

Their chats became the highlights of Mia’s days. They’d sneak quick coffees in the crew lounge, laughing over Mia's mishaps with ship lingo. Leo’s stories of sea storms and serene sunsets made Mia’s heart flutter like a sail in the wind.

Leo showed Mia his favorite spot on the ship, a little nook by the stern where the ocean seemed to stretch into infinity. They shared stories, dreams, and eventually, a hesitant, tender first kiss under the moonlight.

Their romance was a secret dance, a series of stolen moments amidst their busy schedules. Leo would leave small notes for Mia in her mailbox, each a tiny capsule of affection. Mia would save the best desserts from the crew mess to share with Leo during their brief rendezvous.

Their love was a delicate balance, as unpredictable as the sea. They were from different worlds, their contracts ticking like time bombs. Yet, in each other’s eyes, they found a home.

One night, as a storm raged and the ship rocked, they huddled together in Leo’s cabin, the world outside a blur of lightning and thunder. Mia whispered fears of their uncertain future. Leo, holding her close, spoke of hope, of finding a way to keep their hearts anchored despite the odds.

Their romance was the ship’s best-kept secret, a warm flame burning in the vast, cold ocean. With every sunrise and sunset they shared, their bond deepened, a testament to the fact that even in the most unexpected places, love can find a way to bloom.

As her contract end neared, Mia was in a pickle. She loved the ship life – the waves, the laughs, and especially Leo. But saying goodbye would be as hard as giving up chocolate.

So, what did Mia do? Well, that’s a story for another day. For now, let’s just say ship life is one wild ride – you gotta hang on tight and enjoy the laughs!

Kako sam postala Fractional CHRO

Snaga promene U poslu, kao i u životu, jedna stvar me uvek vodila – promene. Iskreno, mnogima i danas nije jasno šta tačno radim. „Jesi li HR?“ – jesam. „Jesi li konsultant?“ – i to.

No escape. Just growth.

I Ran Away. Then I Came Back. I never liked asking for help. I don’t know if society, family, or simply life taught me that, but I know that when things get tough – you grit your teeth and push through. Who needs weakness? Who needs to show they don’t know something? That they can’t handle it? Here, you either figure it out or you disappear. In this country, in this time. And everyone who knows me also knows that I worked abroad. That I ran away, but that I also returned. Always returned. And here I am now, once again. With her. My coach. They told me she was good. That she cuts to the bone , but that it’s worth it. I told myself I could handle it. That I wanted to. Coaching. A word that people here misunderstand, dismiss, or mock. Why would anyone pay someone to ask them questions? they say. But coaching is not about the questions—it’s about the answers you don’t want to hear. And she knows exactly which ones to bring out. The first time I sat across from her, I felt relie...
