Getting my ship legs

The first month is mostly traumatizing a bit for everyone. Beside a huge load of new information, which you need to know and somehow learn, you also must fight fatigue which is not made easy by the way how the ship moves, which can give you anything from headaches to need to throw up and lack of energy. Or turning green 🤢😊

As I was first placed in a guest cabin on deck 12, without a window, I was just feeling strong waves throwing the ship around even more intensely. For 2 weeks I was learning to trust my phone and alarm to distinguish day and night. As my office was the same as cabin just on deck 1, I did not have a window there neither. Life without sunlight, so much for the tan. 😊 :D After 2 weeks they switched my cabin for crew cabin with porthole. At least now I can look under water :D :D I was hoping to see Nemo any second. Sea was very rough, and I discovered that I sleep better with curtains on. 🐟👀😁😁🐟

As I adjusted to my second cabin, unpacked all things, and made a homey 🏡❤😍 atmosphere, learned how to go from it to office and where to eat. One morning I got a paper 📄 under the door that I will travel next morning 🤔😒 to join the other ship on a different continent. 👀 Well, I felt like a refugee, but I guess I will have to learn how to pack and unpack in hours. 🧳 The first thing on my mind was will I make friends there. 🤷‍♀️

I suppose not having time to think too much, I did not question anything I just said goodbye and left. 🧳🛳✈🌍🌎🗺

Again airport, but this time in a small town of Mexico. At least I saw the sun 😎 and went out. Usually when I travel alone, I have the time to reflect on my life, so I will use this time to introduce my self to you a little bit better:

👩‍🏫I am Lidija, sometimes happily married 😊 , no kids, I have older brother and younger sister, love my family, have more than 5 friends 😊😍, have a small and cute crazy dog which my friend found on the street, I love healthy sarcasm (I promise that I will write about differences in sarcasm), part of me loved to be an HR person, but I never enjoyed the whole role, I always loved trainings and education…so, naturally 😉 I worked as HR and Trainer for more than 14 years. I have several thousands of hours of trainings; it is magical to see the transformation in others and seeing how they are implementing the acquired knowledge. But before I ever worked on others, I worked hard on myself.

Some things in my past were a bit dark, 🌑 so I had to overcome many things to be where I am now…As a woman who has been sexually assaulted twice, beaten up several times in my 20ies and watched several friends being tormented, 😢😟 I could say that my knowledge about personal development is beyond books and theory. I do not know how many times I was harassed on job. 🙋🏼‍♀️ I would really appreciate that I have different way to learn things. But as I did not, 🤷🏼‍♀️ now I know how to recognize bullies miles away. So, there is a benefit of every experience!  👌😊😂 As you can maybe recognize, I have a power to attract bullies and since my university I started to learn about human behavior, a bit 😉 of psychology,  sociology, and a lot of management. So, I can stand up for myself in adversity. My first mission was to help myself, so I can walk, eat and breath without a fear that someone will kill me in the end. 😁🍽🤞😃 I learned to love sarcasm and humor, so I can easily change my point of view in every situation in some positive way. I tested many trainings and followed the steps from books. I implemented, tested, and repeated things a thousand times, just to learn what works for me! Every path is different, only mistakes are the same.

I discovered that ethics and morals are very subjective categories.

I embarked the ship, and I received a warm welcome. The ship is half of the size of the last one, when I saw it, I thought it is probably the oldest 👵🏻🚢 ship on the oceans, 👀 it looked like it has not been washed since it launched. I thought they liked me back in the office, but I have different thoughts now 🤣😊. My cabin is a sight to behold…  See you soon paisanos ….

Kako sam postala Fractional CHRO

Snaga promene U poslu, kao i u životu, jedna stvar me uvek vodila – promene. Iskreno, mnogima i danas nije jasno šta tačno radim. „Jesi li HR?“ – jesam. „Jesi li konsultant?“ – i to.

No escape. Just growth.

I Ran Away. Then I Came Back. I never liked asking for help. I don’t know if society, family, or simply life taught me that, but I know that when things get tough – you grit your teeth and push through. Who needs weakness? Who needs to show they don’t know something? That they can’t handle it? Here, you either figure it out or you disappear. In this country, in this time. And everyone who knows me also knows that I worked abroad. That I ran away, but that I also returned. Always returned. And here I am now, once again. With her. My coach. They told me she was good. That she cuts to the bone , but that it’s worth it. I told myself I could handle it. That I wanted to. Coaching. A word that people here misunderstand, dismiss, or mock. Why would anyone pay someone to ask them questions? they say. But coaching is not about the questions—it’s about the answers you don’t want to hear. And she knows exactly which ones to bring out. The first time I sat across from her, I felt relie...
